Physical Education (PE): Curriculum Overview (Year 8)

The outline below in an indication of the syllabus taught in Year 8. Please note that this should be read in conjunction with the Homework Policy which can be found on page 19 of the Handbook for Parents and Students which is distributed at the beginning of each year. Year 8:How is PE taught?PE is taught in two bands: 'X' (Houses CFJ) and 'Y' (Houses MRT).
Lessons are taught in tutor groups.
Topics covered:Students study the following physical activities:
Autumn/Spring terms: Gymnastics, Dance, Netball, Basketball, Fitness and Outdoor Education.

Outdoor activities –Black shorts, T-shirt, trainers.

Activities/visitsAll students are encouraged to participate in extra curricular activities. Some students will be given the opportunity to represent Gumley at school/borough/county level. Some students will be given the opportunity to be involved in the London Youth Games for their borough. |
