Learner Voice makes an important contribution to the life of the school community.
Last year students were involved in a number of development projects within the school, including:
Students reporting to the Senior Leadership Team on feeling safe in school; catering recommendations; Feast day celebration planning.
Developing assemblies to include tutor groups and enhance the prayer life of the school; Charity Day planning and support for local groups.
Teaching and Learning:
Feeding back to the staff about classroom issues and reporting to Governors as part of departmental reviews
Contributing to developing the school's initiatives on recycling, energy and efficiency.
During recent years students have contributed to a review of lunchtime arrangements, uniform, school lunches, anti-bullying strategies and recycling. They have also contributed to the interview process for new staff and organised significant fundraising events.
In 2018-19, each form from Year 7-11 will elect Learner Voice representatives who will be attending meetings with Sixth Form Prefects and members of the Senior Leadership Team. This will be an opportunity to feedback on discussions that have taken place in tutor time on matters affecting the students at Gumley House School.
The school’s Governing Body is closely involved in the continued development of Learner Voice.
