Chinese New Year
Students Celebrate This Joyous Festival
Each year our school celebrates this event, which further supports our Mandarin teaching and the school’s culture.
The younger years participated in lantern decorating competitions, all of which were truly stunning displays.
Students rose to the challenge on how they could capture the Chinese culture in the most creative and unique way by producing lanterns, proudly displayed in the language building.
Chinese dragons and characters decorated other venues to continue the festival spirit throughout the school.
Year 7 performed an array of performances including handkerchief dancing and traditional Chinese songs and were encouraged to reflect on our school’s wonderful multiculturalism that they are fortunate to be part of.
2019 is the Year of the Pig. As many of you will know, the Chinese Zodiac moves in a 12-year cycle and each has a corresponding animal.
