I have been asked to inform all abot how we are doing, so here goes. First off, it isn't that great weather. its quite foggy but really hot! Secondly, we have all learnt loads. It was our second day of learning the language today and I think we all can speak basic words. In fact, I used it today when buying something in a shop. The rooms are very nice, basic, but very clean! The food isn't what you would expect, a lot of rice and sauce dishes. Everyone is very friendly here in China, the students and teachers speak great English and can't help us all enough. Today we also learnt how to paint in ink and leant a chinese song, although the pronounciation wasn't great!! I have been informed that more pictures are being posted soon to keep everyone up to date. FROM SOPHIA x

It is really good to hear from you and to know that you are learning a lot. I hope you are all keeping well and taking every opportunity that comes your way - try everything that is proposed to you! Keep the photos coming so that we can see what you are doing. Best wishes to you all, Sr Brenda fcJ

Hello from China! Today is our sixth day, and so far it's been amazing! We spent two days in Beijing, taking a tour around the area, followed by a trip to the zoo where we saw panda bears. Now we are in the Xi'an Bodi School, where they have been keeping us very busy! Most days we have been learning basic Chinese, followed by different activities in the afternoon and evening. All of us Gumley girls, are becoming very skilled at Chinese, and are all now able to count to ten, tell the time and introduce ourselves. We have done lots of trips out of the school, and have been to the Big Goose Pagoda, Folk Museum, History Museum and the Terracotta Warriors. Zai jian (goodbye!) Mollymae xxx
